BlueStreet Jazz Voices is the newest and most exciting vocal jazz ensemble in Seattle.
The mission of the group is to promote vocal jazz music in the community
and provide high-quality, entertaining and moving musical experiences
for audiences and performersalike.BlueStreet presents original arrangements
of jazz standards, lush ballads and the newest in contemporary jazz.

BlueStreet is a diverse group of musicians who care passionately about
jazz interpretation, as well as the professionalism of their productions.
The 20-member ensemble has developed an audience following that has sold
out venues including the Triple Door and Tula’s jazz clubs in Seattle.

Community Service
BlueStreet is a community-based, 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated
to outreach and education. It brings entertainment and a greater appreciation of
jazz to students,seniors and other audiences through workshops and pro-bono performances.
Achievements
BlueStreet has received recognition and grant funding through King County
4Culture Sustained Support, and the Seattle Mayor’s Office of Arts and Cultural
Affairs. The group has been featured in a variety of articles, including the Earshot Jazz
magazine and JT News. Honored for the quality of their performances, BlueStreet Jazz Voices
was chosen to perform at the 2007 Northwest Music Educators’ National Conference.
Artistic Staff
Ken Wilson, Artistic Director
Ken Wilson is the Music Department Chair at Bellevue Community College. He
holds a BA from Western Washington University and a MA from Eastern Washington
University, and was involved in the computers-in-music education field where
he helped develop software and trained educators across the country. His previous
teaching experience involves working with all age levels and includes 20 years
of helping to develop award-winning vocal jazz and concert choir programs in
the public schools. He currently is active as an adjudicator, clinician and
guest conductor.
Andy Carr, Instrumental Director
Pianist Andy Carr has been "on the scene" in Seattle-area jazz and
swing circles, as well as freelancing for many vocalists, choral groups and
musical theatres since 1979. These days, Andy leads a jazz quartet backing
singer Dianne Trani at Gaspare's Ristorante Italiano; accompanies for shows
and concerts at The Overlake School; and performs with The Seattle City Sextet,
the Northwest's premier tango orchestra. He served with the Shoreline-based
Choir Of The Sound from 1994 to 1998 "But BlueStreet Jazz Voices is my
main gig!"
Booking Information
We offer various configurations from full ensemble to soloists; and various
band options from piano-only to full band. Our fee structure is variable
depending on the configuration, type of event, and sound system requirements.
BlueStreet also performs pro-bono for select community service events.
In addition to our regular performance schedule, BlueStreet also pursues
opportunities to team with other arts organizations for performances and events.
